The Church of Agios Dimitrios is devoted to the city's patron saint, Dimitrios, a Roman soldier who was executed at this site in the calendar year 306. At that time, it had been a Roman bathhouse, plus the murder was ordered by Emperor Galerius who was ruthless in his persecution of Christians. From the 4th century, a church was built on the intern
